The first thing you will do is run the Internet Connection Wizard.

For Windows 95, find your start button and click:
Start, Run, type in "inetwiz.exe" and click OK

For Windows 98, click on the blue swirled "E"

Now you see a screen that says;

"Set up your Internet connection"

Your two options are;
a) Connect using my phone line

b) Connect using local area network

More than likely you are using a phone line to connect so check

phone line and click

The next screen says;

"Dial Up Connection"

We are typing in the phone number your computer dials to access the Internet,

so create a new dial up connection and click

Then enter the access number given to you. Then click

Next

Then the wizard will ask you to type in your user name and

password. Do so in all lower case letters and click

The screen that follows talks about

Advanced settings and connecting to the Internet. It will

Ask you if you want to change the advanced settings.

You do not, so say no and click

The next screen says "Dial up Connection Name"

Just call your dialer "CompuVision"

This will be the same user name and password you use to

access the Internet, so type in your user name and password(in lower case letters). And click

Type in a name for your e-mail most common is your user name

If you don’t subscribe to a news group, say no

Click finish and then re-start your computer so the settings take

effect.

How to e-mail

Click on Outlook Express

Click "Get mail" icon on the right side of the screen

Then hit compose message

In the "To" field type in your address so you can send a test

message to yourself.

In the subject field, type "test"

Hit the send icon and then hit send & receive

At that point the dialer is activated and dials into

the Internet, sends outgoing messages and retrieves

incoming messages.
