The Internet if growing and CompuVision
is growing along with it. Part of our
growth will include changing IP address. For most of our dial up customers this change
will take place with no action required on their part. However, some of our customers will
need to make a small change on their computer. This article will describe how to determine
if you need to make that change and how to make that change.
The setting we need to check is the DNS (Domain Name Server) settings. You may have
your DNS addresses set to a specific IP address or you may have them set so they are
assigned automatically by our server when you call the Internet. What we want them to be
is AUTOMATICALLY ASSIGNED.
Here are the directions to follow to make sure your computer is configured correctly if
you are running Windows 95/98:
- double click my computer
- double click dial up networking
- right click once on compuvision and choose properties
- click on server types
- click on TCP/IP properties
- choose SERVER ASSIGNED IP ADDRESS
- choose SERVER ASSIGNED NAME SERVER ADDRESSS
- click ok all the way back to dial up networking
- close dial up networking and my computer
If you are running Windows NT follow these instructions:

If you are running a MacIntosh sometimes you can not automatically configure those
