| PURPOSE: - To advocate, educate, and communicate to the community of New Braunfels and Comal County the benefits of trails and greenways for recreation and transportation. - To provide an active, forceful and representative voice for those persons and groups interested in the development of a system of trails in Comal County. FOCUS: - To bring together persons and groups who support the agenda of developing recreation and transportation non-motorized trail system. - To provide information to persons and groups concerning issues related to trail development. - To provide a regular newsletter of interest on topics related to community trail development. - To provide e-mail action alerts informing members of pending concerns and how they can choose to respond immediately and effectively. - To provide a forum for discussion of personal and organizations' interests in the development of trails. THE COALITION: By forming a coalition of groups interested in a trails for New Braunfels agenda, we provide a way for those people of groups to have their voices heard as well as build a larger, stronger advocacy group in the community. There is ability in larger numbers. SPONSOR: Comal County Trails, Inc. Comal County Trails, Inc. is a non-profit citizens organization formed to advocate, educate and plan for the development of a system of recreational and transportation trails in New Braunfels and Comal County. Comal County Trails meets regularly to consider plans, make proposals, lobby city and county government and seek grants for the development of a system of trails. Monthly meetings are open to the public and are announced through Newsletters and e-mail communications. A printed vision map is available of the purpose and scope of work of Comal County Trails, Inc. Speakers are available to share our "vision" with community groups.
